Each Virtual Cat Competition (“the Competition”) is open to all ages anywhere in the world (“the Contestants”).
Each Competition will be run by individual clubs or other organizations via the CFA Virtual Cat Competition website.
Entry is not restricted in any way and employees of CFA or companies doing business with CFA are welcome to enter.
Contestants are free to submit as many individual entries as they wish and each entry will be judged separately.
To enter the Competition, Contestants must do the following:
Register an account, complete one entry form per entry per class and upload and submit their photo or video entry as per class specifications. Photos should ideally be 300 x 170 pixels. Video files created using most digital cameras, camcorders and mobile phones such as in the .AVI, .MOV, .WMV, and .MPG file formats, are accepted.
All photo or video entries will be subject to moderation. CFA and its member clubs have absolute discretion to accept or reject any photo or video entry and to remove any entry already accepted without giving reasons for the decision. In particular, they may refuse to upload any entry for the following reasons:
inclusion of defamatory or malicious content;
inclusion of content in video entries to which someone else owns the copyright or other intellectual property rights, such as music, singing, trademarks, logos, insignia, location signage, sculpture, posters, pictures, photographs or other artwork, music tracks, snippets of copyrighted programs, or films made by other users, without the requisite authorizations;
By entering the Competition, Contestants warrant that they are the copyright owners of their photos or video entries which must be original works and must not infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy, or any other rights of a third party.
Finalists for each individual competition will be determined according to the rules set by the sponsoring club or other organization. Sponsoring clubs may employ judging, spectators’ choice voting, or a combination of the two.
Individual clubs or organizations will determine how and when finalists will be notified.
Owners of finalists may have their names used in publications by the sponsoring club and/or CFA, and grant permission for this.
The Public may be invited to vote for their favorite entries in Spectators’ Choice classes as determined by the sponsoring club or organization. The system counts the unique votes (to counter vote fraud) (not shown on the front end).
The sponsoring club and/or CFA reserve the right to disallow votes if they have reasonable grounds to suspect that fraudulent votes have been cast (ie more votes than a human being could possibly submit in the time available without the use of software or other devices designed to make automated votes). They also reserve the right to disqualify any category entrant who engages in activity which could be designed to unfairly manipulate the outcome of the Public Vote.
Prizes for each individual contest will be determined by the sponsoring club or organization.
Some prizes may not be able to be delivered to some locations. It is the club's responsiblity to publish if this is the case.
The sponsoring club and/or CFA are granted permission to use all Finalists’ names and their comments relating to the Prize and Competition experience for promotion of the Prize, this Competition, or the Competition Parties, and for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes in any media worldwide without notice and without any fee being paid.
The information Contestants supply in connection with the Competition (including their personal details) will not be supplied to third parties (other than the Competition Parties) other than as is reasonably necessary to notify Finalists and send them their prizes.
Any personal information provided by the Contestants will only be used by us in accordance with CFA’s Privacy Statement which is accessible at https://cfa.org/privacy-policy/
